Introduction
The excellent engineering adaptability and proven reliability of gabions
and mattresses is well known, making them the product of choice for
a wide variety of retaining structures and erosion control applications.
G.S.E. aims to provide a totally independent and reliable source of
quality gabion products at competitive prices.
G.S.E. gabions and mattresses are manufactured to exacting standards
and to a quality system certified to comply with the requirements
of ISO 9002. |
 Wire
Properties
All wire used in the manufacture of G.S.E. gabions and mattresses
conforms strictly to the requirements of BS 1052/1980 for tensile
strength and BS 443/1982 for galvanised coating.
For more aggressive environments, such as marine applications, the
wire is coated with a layer of PVC to improve durability.
Unique to G.S.E. products, this PVC coating may also be bonded to
the wire and this dramatically improves the long term performance
as corrosion due to possible capillary action between conventional
PVC coating and core wire is eliminated.
Bonded wire is especially suitable for marine/coastal applications.
